Surgery doesn’t always make things better

As I stated earlier, I went on to have a total of 4 kids.  With each pregnancy, my prolapse was getting worse.  The heaviness I felt was constant and I knew I would need to have surgery. It was determined that I not only needed a hysterectomy but also would need my bladder and rectum suspended as well.  Two surgeons were needed but they would perform the surgery together.

I’m not going to lie, recovery was TOUGH!  I couldn’t empty my bladder and needed to use catheters for the first few days.  I remember looking at the packages of catheters on my bathroom floor and hating that this was my life!   I had a lot of pain for many weeks.  I felt like I might never be the same again.

My favorite room in my house has always been the sunroom.  It is wall to wall windows and just a cheery place to be.  I began to hate that room.  It felt like my prison as I rarely left the couch!  The good news is that I did recover and all was well again for 1 year.  Just one!
