Using The Stop Light Guide During Exercise

How do you know when pain during exercise is ok or when you should stop? You can use the stop light guide to help you.

Red light: you experience pain during a movement/exercise and the pain stays worse 15-20 minutes after exercise. STOP!

Yellow light: you experience pain during a movement/exercise and the pain is no worse 15-20 minutes after exercise: Proceed with caution! If the yellow light turns red, STOP.

Green light: you are not experiencing any pain with movement/exercise. Keep going!

Sometimes pain is initially experienced with a particular movement/exercise and gets better as reps increase. This is also a green light!
